The mission of OffstageArts.org is to provide arts and other non-profit organizations with a high-quality, integrated, customizable database solution at low cost. OffstageArts.org provides an enterprise-ready, free/open source, zero-install database solution that consultants may use to provide integrated solutions for non-profit clients.

Version 1.8.0 Released

The big leap forward here is that SSL connections are now supported. SSL is transparent to the user, but a little more is involved in making the launchers.

More later... there will be an OA sysadmin guide that describes how to set up SSL, how to create launchers, etc.

Version 1.7.1 Released

Version 1.7.1 was released today. Improvements include:

  • Password based encryption now possible on config files. This allows launchers to be encrypted, which allows them to be (more) securely distributed to clients via email.
  • Bugs fixed in duplicate finding and merging: proper handling of blank fields of nulls, proper merging of approximate DOB, the new record now always displays on the left, etc.
  • Queries can now specify the database in which to search. By default, they search in the default database (dbid=0)

New Programmer Docs

I've added some (very rough) new documentation on programming and customizing OffstageArts. It's a start.

Welcome to OffstageArts

OffstageArts has now been eight years in the making. We are nowhere near finished, but we have come a long way in that time. The latest exiting news is, of course, this website. Please feel free to browse and try out the software. And of course, please send comments to citibob at offstagearts dot org.
